I've seen what one can do, but you have twice the Hawk power here watch out squirrels !!!!!!!!
JJ...not to many squirrels out on the desert..plenty of...mice..snakes..lizzards
doves...rabbits...:o)
Red Harris hawks actually hunt together..unlike most raptors that are solitary hunters.
Younglings are probably roosted in thar! That's an awesome photo. Nature rules!
You are right..actually I have photos of these as about a week old..still in pin feathers..:o)
Three of them were hatched in that nest ! The saguaro cactus was approximately 24 foot tall...and only had the arms at the top.
I had another Hawk strike this morning, when I opened my bedroom shade I saw feathers falling from the tree and when I went outside there were feathers and blood on the ground so another dove got caught and eaten : [[[[[ I love those Harris Hawks they have beautiful coloring Great Capture Dusty : ]]]]
She is Gorgeous, that is quite some nest they have made....and the little nest is so cute but won't the owl eat the wren babies if they were to nest there ?
Typically a red harris hawk makes the nest..and the owl appropriates for the next 5 to 6 years..:o)
Its more likely a hawk or snake would get the wren babies..:o(
did you have to use a long lens?
BUZZED!
